Choral Music

Music is at the heart of the worship at Holy Trinity Church, just as it has done within worship since the earliest centuries of the Christian church. We are lucky to have two excellent choirs to lead our worship and provide a vibrant musical atmosphere during services. Our well-established and thriving adult choir (ages 16+) is made up of paid choral scholars and volunteers. They regularly sing in eight or more parts and sing a full choral communion service, anthem, Introit and psalm in each service. The adult choir lead our worship twice a month, usually for Principal Feasts or the second/fourth Sundays of each month. They rehearse on Sunday mornings only, before and after the morning Eucharist at 9.30am.

Our new youth choir is open to all boys and girls ages 10-18. Many members bring the musicianship they have developed having been a music scholar at Holy Trinity Primary School. All members bring different levels of experience, but a shared enthusiasm for choral singing and a thirst for learning to read music. The choir also boasts 'young leaders' who are members aged 16-18 who help to lead the choir. The youth choir currently sing for the 9.30am Eucharist service once a month, usually on the third Sunday of the month, and rehearse before and afterwards. The first Sunday of the month is usually led by an organist and cantor.

Holy Trinity Church is a safe, happy and dynamic place in which to make music and glorify God through the singing of the Word. Both choirs have a diverse and challenging repertoire.

The music team consists of Director of Music, Lucy Joy Morris, Organist Adam Hope, Youth Choir Conductor, Chloe Todd, and an Assistant organist/Organ Scholar.

Both choirs are always open to enquiries from new members and adult choral scholarships are advertised when they become vacant.
